Help shape the next generation of adventurers

Every camp, meeting and adventure at Pfadfinder is made possible by volunteers. Whether you can help occasionally, support weekly activities or become a Scout Leader, there’s a place for you in our community—and you don’t need previous Scouting experience to get started.

We’ll provide the training and support to help you get started.

Help occasionally or become a regular Adult Helper or Scout Leader.

Most volunteer roles can be done in English or German.

WWVP and child safety training required.

Whether you have a few hours each month or are looking for a bigger commitment, there are several ways to support Pfadfinder. Every role helps create a safe, welcoming and adventurous program for young people.

Parents are an important part of the Pfadfinder community. Whether it’s helping at a camp, lending a hand at an event or supporting a working bee, every contribution makes a difference.

You don’t need to volunteer every week. Helping when you can is already a valuable way to support the program and your child’s experience.

  • Support camps and excursions
  • Help with fundraising
  • Assist at working bees
  • Transport equipment
  • Share ideas and practical help

Adult Helpers become part of the weekly adventure, supporting meetings, excursions and camps alongside our Scout Leaders.

It’s a great way to become more involved in the program while building confidence and experience in a supportive team environment.

  • Attend meetings
  • Support Scout Leaders
  • Help supervise activities
  • Join camps and excursions
  • Assist with planning

Scout Leaders help young people grow through adventure, teamwork and outdoor experiences. They plan activities, mentor youth members and create the memorable moments that children often remember for years.

No previous Scouting experience is required. Training, mentoring and ongoing support are provided as you grow into the role.

  • Lead weekly activities
  • Mentor young people
  • Plan camps and adventures
  • Support youth-led learning
  • Build confidence and teamwork

Every volunteer brings different skills, experience and availability. Whether you’re helping occasionally or taking on a larger role, we’ll work with you to find something that fits.

Absolutely. Most of our Scout Leaders have full-time jobs. That’s why having a team of volunteers is so important—we share the responsibility and support one another.

Yes. We understand that work, family and other commitments sometimes come first. You don’t need to be available every week to make a valuable contribution.

Not at all. We’ll provide the training, mentoring and support you need to feel confident in your role.

Scout Leaders run activities in German, but many volunteer roles can be done in either English or German.

Start with a conversation. We’ll help you find a role that matches your interests, availability and confidence.

Getting started is straightforward. We’ll help you find the right role, explain what’s involved and support you through each step of becoming a volunteer.

We’ll chat about your interests, availability and the different volunteer opportunities to help you find the role that’s right for you.

One of our Scout Leaders shared this story after encouraging a parent to become involved:

“A mother approached me once after a Scout session and said, ‘Thanks for talking my husband into becoming a Leader. It has really brought the family closer together. I’m so proud of him, he’s having the time of his life, and our kids love that he’s one of the Leaders.

Sometimes volunteering becomes much more than simply helping out. It creates friendships, shared adventures and memories that families carry with them for years.
