Part-time · 2 days per week · German-language early childhood education
At the German Australian Playschool (GAP), you’ll help create a warm, playful and engaging learning environment where children aged 3–5 can explore language, culture and community through everyday experiences.
Working closely with children, families and colleagues, you’ll help shape a program that balances early childhood learning with creativity, curiosity and joy.
What you’ll do
- Lead or support our German-language playschool program
- Plan and deliver engaging learning experiences
- Build positive relationships with children and families
- Support children’s wellbeing, confidence and development
- Work collaboratively with educators, volunteers and the wider Spielwelt community
We’re looking for someone who
- Loves working with children aged 3–5
- Is a supportive and collaborative team member
- Speaks German confidently enough to work with children and families
- Holds (or is eligible for) a Working With Vulnerable People Card
- Holds (or is willing to obtain) First Aid certification in Australia
Ideally, you also have
- Early childhood teaching or children’s services experience
- A Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education, Children’s Services, Sozialpädagogik or a comparable qualification
- Experience planning and facilitating learning experiences for young children

Position Details
- Mondays and Tuesdays
- 8:20am – 3:00pm
- Additional work on other days may occasionally be available
- CSE Level 3 or 4 classification, depending on qualifications and experience

Typical shifts
- GAP Playschool: 8:05am – 2:45pm
- After-school and children’s activities: afternoons during school terms
- Relief shifts for staff leave and absences
Some shifts are planned in advance, while others may be offered at shorter notice.
